Study for the CRCT
Being successful on any test requires good
instruction, parent support, and a strong student work ethic (Dietel, 2007).
Ways parents can help
- Encourage reading in your home.
- Communicate with your child’s teacher
regularly.
- Monitor assignments, homework, and tests to
identify strengths and weaknesses.
- Schedule a time for homework
- Remain Calm
What students can do
- Get
Organized! Keep plenty of paper, #2 pencils, folders
and binders on hand. Keep your desk
clean and well organized.
- Practice,
Practice, Practice: Take advantage of online practice tests,
teacher administered practice tests, and the After School Tutoring
Program. If you need help- ask!
- Plan
Your Work: Schedule
a specific time and place for homework.
- Get
Plenty of Rest: Being productive is a result of balancing
play, work and rest.
- Eat
Healthy Foods: Eating a good breakfast gives you energy
and helps to reduce anxiety and shakiness.
- Dress
for success! Being as comfortable as possible during
a test is important! Dress in
layers. Wear a light layer next to
your skin and a jacket or sweater that you can remove if needed.
