Ms. Allday's Kindergarten Class
My name is Betty Allday. I am a graduate of Valdosta State College, now Valdosta State University.  I possess a B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education. This is my 30th year teaching!  Twenty six of the years have been here at Wacona! Although my experience includes teaching first and second grade, most of my years have been in kindergarten. I love children and I love teaching kindergarten.

My paraprofessional is Mrs. Deborah Smith. We are looking forward to working with your child this year.

Classroom Rules and Procedures
1. Keep hands and feet to yourself.
2. Listen to and follow directions.
3. Raise your hand before speaking.
4. Use an indoor voice.
5. Be kind and polite to others.
6. Respect school and personal property.

Your child will bring home a homework folder every day. You will find important notices as well as some of the work your child has done that day. Inside the folder there is also a Traffic Light Behavior Chart. A green light indicates good or satisfactory behavior. A yellow light indicates there needs to be improvement (rules have been broken). A red light indicates unsatisfactory behavior (many rules have been disobeyed). Please look at, sign, and talk with your child about the charts daily. Good behavior is condusive to learning. Reward your child's good behavior with praise and hugs! Your support is greatly appreciated!

Homework
We are learning the Dolch Sight Words. Each night please help your child with his\her list. The lists are taken from the Dolch List 1-50.
