How Small Is The Smallest Bat? Do you think that the smallest bat weighs more than a penny? The answer to that question is no.

How Many Bats?  Bats are very common. There are more bats than any other mammal except maybe rodents.

How Bats See Some people say that bats are blind but truly they can see with sonar.

How People Use Bat Droppings  Bat guano (bat droppings) is used as fertilizer. Some people use it in their gardens to make the plants grow larger and better.

Nocturnal  During the day most bats sleep. Bats are nocturnal, that means that they sleep in the daytime and fly at night. We are not nocturnal. Bats sleep up-side down.

Are They Mammals? Did you know that the only mammal that can fly is the bat? Most people think that birds are mammals to, but they are not because they lay eggs. Mammals do not lay eggs. Just like most mammals, bats have fur. Bats are also warm-blooded.

Where Bats Sleep Bats usually sleep in dark and damp places such as caves or trees in damp places.

How They Get Their Food Baby bats don’t get there own food, their parents go out at night and get the food.

What Bats Eat Bats eat many different things. Some eat fruit some eat insects.
