Civility is when you are polite to others. Civil: Ty and Devin shook hands when they met. They smiled at each other. Devin held the door open for Ty. Devin always uses good manners. Uncivil: Devin ignored Ty. Devin ignored Ty when Ty needed help with classwork. Devin talked to another boy in class while Ty was trying to talk to him for help. Devin frowned at Ty and stuck out his tongue at him. Devin let the door close on Ty's foot. Devin has bad manners.
