Blue Notes
Each child has a "normal"
way of getting home. This information was provided by parents/guardians
on the registration form. This may be on a particular bus or as a
car rider. When there is a need for this to change, send a note with
your child when he/she comes to school (please include a telephone number
where you can be reached) or call the office before 1:45 p.m. and we will
get him or her a "Blue Note." Children will not be allowed to change
their "normal" way of going home without a "Blue Note" from the office.
Early Check-Out Procedure
As with most procedures at Wacona, these are designed to protect you and your child. When it becomes necessary to check your child out of school early, come by the school office first. One of the secretaries will assist you with completion of a "Student Sign-Out Form." The secretary will call the classroom for your child to come to the office. It will not be necessary for you to go to the classroom and get your child. There is one exception to this and that is when your child is in P.E. We have no way of summoning your child if he/she is on one of the P.E. fields. In that case you will need to take the "Student Sign-Out Form" to one of the coaches. Teachers are not authorized to release your child, even to you, without this form from the office.
When you registered
your child, you provided the names of those persons whom you authorized
to check your child out from school. Only these individuals will
be permitted to do so. If this information changes during the year,
it is a parent's responsibility to come by the office and make the necessary
changes.
