W.I.N.G.S Field trip
Just when you thought summer was over…
We’re going to the beach!
Why? The first nine weeks we are doing a unit on water and how it connects us to other living things. Each grade level will be working on this unit, but will have its own writing and science objectives correlated to the system wide pacing guide. Check out Mrs. Eyles’ web site for specific details.
When? Friday, September 7th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If you do not go on the field trip with us, you will need to pick up your child in the back parking lot at Wacona by 4:00.
Cost? $32.00 (same for adults and children)
This price includes seat on the bus, 4-H program, Turtle Rehabilitation Program, and hot lunch at the 4-H Center.
What will we be doing?
8:00 Leave Wacona
Go to 4-H Center
Bathroom Break
Program
Seining (grades 3-5) and beachcombing (grades 1 and 2)
12:00-12:45 Lunch and bathroom
1:00-2:30 Program at Turtle Rehabilitation Center and Celebration of Wacona’s adoption of a turtle
2:30-4:00 Travel home
What to wear? Bathing suit, shorts shoes that can get wet
What to bring? Water bottle filled with water, sunscreen, extra shoes, money for souvenirs (if desired), Game Boys, iPods, etc. (Remember, you are responsible for what you bring. The bus cannot be locked.)
