Rewards
For those students who have good hall behavior and good behavior in class, they will get a W.I.N.G.S coin.
Extra W.I.N.G.S coins may be earned for remembering to complete and turn in your homework, making a 100 on any academic test, doing outstanding work, winning a review game, being the Helper of the Day, or celebrating a birthday. (If you had a summer birthday, you get an extra coin on the first day.) Students may buy rewards at the end of class. (Example: If you want to buy popcorn and a drink, you pay for it on Tuesday and eat it on Wednesday.)
Students who exhibit exceptionally mature behavior or amazingly hard work may receive phone calls, letters or postcards home, certificates, stickers, or special pencils.
In addition to coins, helpers of the day and those celebrating a birthday get a chance at the candy crane. (Those with summer birthdays may have a chance at the crane the first week.)
Finally, a student may earn “Star Student.” This
student is someone who is observed doing incredible work and maintaining
wonderful behavior both in the hall and in the classroom for nine weeks. This
student will receive a packet of prizes, including three homework passes, five
chances on the crane, a free day pass, popcorn and a drink, a phone call or
letter home, his or her picture posted on Mrs. Eyles’ web site, and a star
bear. This is a special award only for those who work extremely hard.
