Dear Parents,

You might have noticed that I am covering letters that have already been covered this year. This is because I am teaching phonics out of our new reading series and from Saxon phonics. Each week the reading series might introduce anywhere from 0-2 letters or it might only cover sight words or blending. Saxon phonics will introduce a letter each week. I know this is very confusing to you. I can promise it is more confusing to me trying to plan each week and remember what I covered when the letter was introduced earlier. Bear with me while I am trying to figure out the best way to teach the letters. One good side about teaching phonics from 2 series is that your child will be exposed to the letter at least two times. On the report card your child will only be responsible for the letters covered by the reading series and not Saxon for that particular six weeks.
