COMPUTER  LAB  ACTIVITIES

The program of instruction in the computer lab is under constant development and modification as needed.  There are a number of modules that the students will learn about during the school year. These modules include, but are not limited to, the following:

Basic Computer Knowledge
Keyboarding
Word Processing
KidPix
Kidspiration and Inspiration
Computer History and Networking
Technology in Today's World
Spreadsheets
Online Research
Online Safety
Email
Netiquette and Nethics
Podcasting
Google Earth
Video Editing and Storyboarding
Multimedia Presentations
Digital Photography and Digital Photo Editing
Blogging

All lessons taught in the lab are based on National Educational Technology Standards set forth by the International Society for Technology in Education.

Wacona Elementary School's belief statement contains the following sentence:  "We believe our school should begin to prepare students for tomorrow's world of technology."

This belief statement is put into effect in the computer lab as we work together to learn how to utilize the technology we have available. I welcome lesson plan ideas and input from teachers, parents, and students.  Our common goal is to prepare the students for life beyond elementary school, and to equip them with knowledge and skills that are necessary in today's world.  If you have suggestions, please email me.
