Mrs. Linda H. Loyd

My name is Linda Loyd and I want to welcome you to my class. We are going to have a great year! This is my twenty- first year of teaching; however, I have only been teaching at Wacona for seven years. Prior to that, I was a para-professional in Gwinnett Co. and in Ware Co. for 15 years. I taught 14 years in Virginia before moving to Georgia. I am a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory of Music and I have my master's degree from Troy State University. I have two married children: Tommy and Brenda. Also, I now have a grandson, Parker. He was born in February.

My favorite grade to teach is kindergarten. I love working with young children!!! They are very important to me and become "my family". I’d like to introduce our para-pro to you… Ms. Sandra Duncan. She was with me last year and I want you to know that she is wonderful with children. I think she loves them as much as I do!!

I would like to talk with you about our behavior plan. This is actually for the entire kindergarten grade level. We use the traffic light as an indicator of behavior. The green light means "good for you", "you've had a good day, I'm proud of you". The yellow light is a warning saying "please try harder, you are breaking some of the rules, try to go back to green". The red light is given if rules are continued to be broken while on the yellow light. Of course, the child can progress back to green if the behaviors are corrected. Please look at the folder which contains the behavior chart and completed papers each day. Don't forget to sign the chart so I'll know that you have seen it. Good school behavior is needed in order to learn and progress. We all want that!!

We eat lunch at 11:03-11:33. Recess is at 10:30. Exploratories (art, music, computer lab, and P.E.) are at 12:05-12:35.
