Essential Questions:

        Why is it important to know location?

How can I construct a model of the Earth that displays continents and oceans?

How can I compare the people, animals, weather, and land of my continent with other continents?

How do I organize facts about a selected continent to communicate those facts to others?

 

Project Directions:

1.         Work with your partner and complete the web quest on the seven continents of the world.  CLICK HERE to start your quest! Choose one continent that you find the most interesting, besides North America, while on your search.

1.               Use the data sheet provided to fill in the information that you find on your continent.

Now you will be doing more research. CLICK HERE to find more information on your continent. Also use the books that are in the room to find more information about your continent.

2.         Complete a graphic organizer for each continent.

3.         Write a paragraph and compare the natural habitats and cultures of the continents with the habitat and cultures of North America.  Tell which habitats and cultures they prefer.  

4.         Create a report on your findings.

1.               Make sure you answer the following in your report:

1.     What is the name of your continent?

2.     What are some of the countries are in the continent?

3.     What do the people look and dress like? How are they different and the same from ours?

4.     What kinds of animals are found there?

5.     What types of weather?

6.     What kinds of landforms are seen there?

7.     What kinds of holidays are celebrated?

8.     Where and how do they produce their food?

9.     What are some kinds of food that they eat?

10.        What special things did you find about the continent?

 

5.         Create a project based on your research that presents information about your selected continent. (ex: project board, example of housing, food, clothing, transportation, Power Point).
