-Dr. Seuss Trivia Contest: Each teacher should select two representatives. On Friday, February 27 we will have a spelling bee type Trivia Contest.
-Poetry Contest: Teachers can print this form and make copies for the students or the poem can be written on notebook paper.
-Letter-Writing Contest:  Dr. Seuss created many fun and loveable characters.  Pretend that you are one of the characters and write a letter to another character. (What would the Cat in the Hat write to the Grinch?) Some of Dr. Seuss' characters include: Cat in the Hat, Thing 1, Thing 2, the fish, Grinch, his dog Max, Cindy Lou Who, Horton, Fox, Sneeches, Daisy-Head Mayzie, the Lorax, Sam-I-Am, and many more.  Be Creative!


Third Grade

If possible, try to use some of the figurative language you have learned about this year.
- Dr. Seuss Interview Contest: If you could interview Dr. Seuss, write down at least 5 questions you would ask him.  The person with the best questions may get the opportunity to interview "Dr. Seuss" for the news show.


Fifth Grade


-Dr. Seuss Trivia Contest: Each teacher should select two representatives. On Friday, February 27 we will have a spelling bee type Trivia Contest.
-Poetry Contest: Teachers can print this form and make copies for the students or the poem can be written on notebook paper. (The form doesn't actually have to be used, but the students may want to use it to get ideas of rhyming words.) Try to use some of the types of figurative language you have learned about this year.
-Creative Writing Contest:  Oh, The Places You'll Go is a story about hopes and dreams for the future. Where do you think you will be in ten years? What will you be doing?
