It is up to humans to help take care of the earth and to find ways to stop pollution. Conservation is the word used when people try to stop pollution and try to help the earth.
The earth has resources that we use to help us live. Some of these resources can be recycled (used again), and some cannot. We have to conserve (save) those resources that can't be recycled. When you conserve, you use less of a resource at a time, and this makes the resource last longer.
Turn off your lights when you are not using them. Use less air conditioning in the summer and less heat in the winter. Car pool to use less gas in your car. Conserve water if you haven't had a lot of rain. Recycle your garbage so that it can be used again.
Preventing pollution is another way to help conserve, because it takes care of the earth. Plant a tree or pick up litter on the side of the road (with a parent helping you). All of these things help conserve the earth's resources so we can use them for a long time.
