Reading	Read aloud the current story with an adult before the test on Friday
Math	Study the multiplication facts nightly until you know them as well as your own name! We will learn all about place value in class. Practice the division process. (Does McDonald’s Serve A Burger?)
Spelling (see Harcourt web site)	1-10 5X each on Mon., 11-20 5X each on Tues., All words on Wed., Study for test on Thurs.
Grammar	We will work with verbs.
Science	The focus will be on ecology.
Social Studies	Explorers and colonies

Please help us out by checking your child’s white envelope and homework assignment sheet each and every night.  Then sign both of them.  The class will have time at the end of each day to write down their homework.  I don’t have time to look at every one of the homework sheets, but if we have a problem I would be happy to check and initial a child’s homework sheet.  Please just let me know if you think this is needed, and I’ll do the same.
