Paul Revere was born in Massachusetts in 1734. He was in school until the age of 13. His father owned a silversmith shop. A silversmith shop is a place where jewelry, spoons, and teapots are made out of silver. A silversmith is the person who makes the jewelry, spoons, and teapots out of silver. Paul Revere worked in his father’s silversmith shop. He was known for the things he made. Paul was married two times. His first wife was Sarah. She died 16 years after they were married. His second wife was Rachel. He loved America, so he joined the army. People got tired of England telling them what to do in the colonies. A colonist is someone who lives in a colony. A colony is a place where people live, but they are told what to do by another country. Paul helped get messages to leaders in different places. Paul was a Patriot. That means he loved his country. He made many trips to give people messages. His most important ride was to warn the people that the British army was coming. Paul Revere saved people’s lives by warning them of the danger. He cared about the rights of people to make their own laws.
