  White Blood Cells

Graphic by Elycia

White blood cells are found in the blood stream and in other parts of the body. They travel to all parts of a body to fight bad bacteria. Some of these blood cells are formed inside bone marrow. Bone marrow is the mushy stuff inside bones. White blood cells float around like guardians looking for bad bacteria that are trying to invade. When a white blood cell finds bacteria that might make you sick, they kill it. So a white blood cell's job is to keep you well and help fight illness!

Art Time:  Take a piece of paper. Use colored pencils, crayons, markers, or paints and draw a picture of a white blood cell fighting harmful bacteria. Use your imagination!
