World War II consisted of two groups: the AXIS and the ALLIES. Benito Mussollini declared that the treaty between Italy and German would form an “axis” for all states of Europe to revolve thus forming the AXIS. The major AXIS powers consisted of Nazi Germany, Facist Italy and Imperial Japan. The ALLIES had many major powers that bonded together to fight the AXIS. The original powers were the French Republic, Republic of Poland, United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. During the course of the war, many countries joined the two forces, some changed their allegiance while others crumbled. Although the ALLIES conquered the AXIS, their death toll and destruction was a defeat. |
