The Dinosaur

Once there was a dinosaur named Pete. He would go in front of cars and crash them into each other and play with them. When he was hungry, he would eat cars and buildings. He would crash down the meat store and eat all the meat in there. He would go to the beach and go swimming. Whoever would try to get him, he would eat them whole! After he ate all the animals, he would get a big straw and slurp it all up. Then he would find some kids and take them with him. He would cook them in his pot and eat them! After a while, he would spit them all up and they would be okay again. All the other stuff would come out, too. Then after many years, he was taken to the jungle. He lived there for ever and had a great time.

Now the story above is make believe, but we spent a lot of time learning about real dinosaurs and other animals and plants that have become fossils. We found out that fossils explain how dinosaurs and other things lived millions of years ago. We need to learn about fossils so that we can learn about the earth's past.
