Altamaha River system

The Altamaha River system is a slow moving system.  It starts near the south Georgia town of Lumber City and moves eastward to Darien Georgia. it travels for 137 miles through southeast Georgia. At it's widest points it has a floodplain that is 5 miles wide.

Chattahoochee River

The Chattahoochee runs through the piedmont part of Georgia (that’s in the middle of the state). It runs through the city of Atlanta. The Chattahoochee River is part of Georgia’s border with Alabama.
