The Okefenokee Swamp is in south Georgia. There are a lot of animals that you can find only in the swamp. One of them is the alligator. These animals like moist, warm places. The swamp is very big, and is made up of a lot of small islands that lay on top of a large body of fresh water. Our school is near the swamp. Our swamp is named the Okefenokee. This is a Native American word that means "land of the trembling earth".
