A thermometer is a tool we use to measure heat. Temperature is the amount of heat something has. Ice has a low temperature, because it is cold. It doesn’t have much heat. A fire would have a high temperature, because it is hot. It has a lot of heat. Temperature is marked in degrees. Some thermometers measure in Fahrenheit. Others measure in Celsius. Do your parents watch the weather every day? They watch it so they will know what the temperature will be. If the temperature is cold, they ask you to wear a jacket.
