What games did the Indians play?
Animation by Aaron A lot of tribes played games like stickball. They didn't play these for fun, but to settle fights and to ask their spirits for rain or other things. These games were for adults, not for the children. Sometimes people were killed during their games. Native American children liked to play games. Some of their games were kickball, and hoop and pole games. They liked to have horse races, canoe races, and running contests. They also had archery contests with bows and arrows, and would use spears to see who could throw them the farthest. They also liked to make bets, and had games with shells, bones, and other things. They would toss the shells and bet on which way they would land. Even the women enjoyed these games. Games We Made!
