The Appalachian Mountains are in North America. They go from Canada all the way down to Georgia. There are several different sections in this system of mountains. These sections are the White Mountains, Green Mountains, Berkshire Hills, Black Mountains, Catskill Mountains, Allegheny Plateau, Blue Ridge Mountains, Great Smoky Mountains, and Cumberland Plateau. Most of these mountains are made up of sedimentary rocks. Mount Mitchell is the highest peak in this mountain chain.
