The Mississippi River is the largest river in the United States. It starts in Minnesota and flows all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. It is 2,350 miles long. There have been a lot of songs and plays and stories written about the Mississippi River. Many of Mark Twain's stories were set on the Mississippi. Two of those stories were Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.
