Groups of stars that seem to make pictures in the sky are called constellations. One constellation is called the Great Bear. It’s also called the Big Dipper. There is also a Little Bear and Little Dipper. The North Star is at the end of the Little Bear’s tail. If you see it, you are facing north. The North Star is directly above the North Pole. For a long time, it has helped people with directions. People a long time ago named the constellations. Most of them are named after animals or people. If you watch the stars, they seem to move. They don’t really move, though. The Earth is turning, so it makes it seem like the stars are moving. While the Earth travels around the sun, we see different stars. Sometimes we can see Orion the Hunter and a Bull. Both of those are constellations. Other constellations are the Lyre, the Swan, and the Eagle. These are all part of the Milky Way. The Milky Way is made up of millions of stars. The Milky Way is a galaxy. It is the galaxy that we live in. A galaxy has stars, dust, and gas in it. Sometimes you can see giant clouds of gas and dust in the sky. They are called nebulas. Some nebulas have stars in them. A famous nebula is a part of the constellation Orion the Hunter. You can learn a lot more about
