The  assistant principal at Wacona Elementary School is Ms. Marni Shuman. Ms. Shuman has her Bachelor of education from the University of Miami (Florida). She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Education from Arizona State University. She has completed certification requirements in Educational Leadership through Valdosta State University, and has her Education Specialist Degree from VSU.

Ms. Shuman moved to Waycross in 1981 to teach with the Waycross City School System. From 2001-2005, she was the Instructional Facilitator at Center Elementary School. She enjoys reading, traveling, and weight training.
