Verb

A verb is: A word that tells what  you're doing, or some kind of action.  Action verbs tell what the subject of a sentence did, does, or will do. Some examples of action verbs are words like "talk", "type", or "run". Some verbs are linking verbs. These verbs link subjects to words in the predicate. Linking verbs are words like "is" or "am". For example, "He is driving me crazy." The word "is" links "he" and "driving".

Verbs can have tenses. The tenses are past, present, and future.

Past tense is when things happened in the past. For example, "We ATE lunch today."
Present tense is when things are happening now. For example, "We ARE EATING lunch."
Future tense is when things will happen. For example, "We WILL EAT lunch at noon."

Example1. Jerry threw the ball hard.

Example2. Ty hit the baseball, and it went over the fence.

                                                                               Here's a problem. Can you find the verb?

We won the contest.

He ate all the cookies.

She took her test, and she made a 100.

Can you think of at least three verbs that describe this picture?
Hint: Think of what the student is doing and what the computer is doing.
