Tips for Teacher or Classroom Web Pages
| Keep in mind that
your audience consists of your students and your parents. The information
you provide should help them in some way. THINK about your web page before
you begin to make it. Stay away from the computer for a day or two and
actually make your plans on paper. Then you’ll be prepared to start creating!
The following are must-haves for a good teacher/class web page:
Homework assignments Spelling words Student of the week Graphics or pictures that accentuate or help deliver your message Calendar Keep in mind, if you include the optional items you will need to update your page(s) more regularly. Another tip to remember is if your page becomes too long, you might consider breaking it into smaller web pages. And always, always, find out what your school or district's policy is regarding publishing students' and staff members' names, pictures, email addresses, work, etc. Before you begin to actually create your page, sit down and sketch it out on paper. Have it all planned, including what kind of graphics you might want to include, before you ever turn on the computer. That's it! Now get busy planning that page! |
