Seasons are caused by sunshine. The earth tilts, and sometimes the top of the earth is pointing toward the sun more than the bottom half of the earth is. Whichever part of the earth is pointing more toward the sun is the part that is having summer. Whichever part of the earth is pointing more away from the sun is the part that is having winter.

There are four seasons:  Spring, summer, fall, and winter.

Spring is when the flowers and trees begin to bloom and turn green again. The air starts to gradually warm up. There may be a lot of wind during spring, and some rain.

Summer is the warmest time of year for us. The days are very hot, and on most summer afternoons we get a rain shower.

Fall is when the leaves start to drop off of the trees. The air turns a little cooler, and plants begin to wilt and die.

Winter is the coldest part of the year. Many places get snow in winter. We usually get a lot of frost at night. It is hard for animals to find food during winter because most of the plants don't have leaves.
