If we didn't have force, nothing would
move, not even a truck, not even a ball. Nothing, no nothing, no nothing
at all.
A truck couldn't move without an
engine. The pistons in the engine force the cam shaft to move which moves
the drive shaft, which moves the gears in the universal joint, which in turn
moves the wheels of the truck.
Moving
The pistons are
connected to the cam shaft.
The cam shaft is
connected to the drive shaft.
The drive shaft
is connected to the universal joint.
The
universal joint is connected to the wheels.
And that's the way we move!
A ball hits the floor and exerts a
force on a floor. The floor exerts a force on the ball, and the ball
bounces. Cool huh?
A whale breaches, jumps out of the
water. How? He uses his muscles to pump his fluke three or for
times. The pushing of the fluke forces the whale out of the water.
They can jump as high as 45 feet.
