We are going to be talking about fish in this writing, so the first thing is the definition of fish so that you will know what we are talking about. The meaning of fish is any numerous cold-blooded aquatic vertebrates of the super class Pisces, characteristically having fins, gills, and streamlined body. So that is what it means.

Next, we are going to learn some facts about fish.  The first thing is they live under water. The next thing is they don’t come up for air.   They have gills and they breath through them. Fish can be big or small. They can be nice or mean.

Now, we are going to learn some different kinds of fish. The first one is the Clown Loach. He is 130 mm and he eats all foods and algae. The second one is the Coolie Loach. Its size is 110 mm and it eats all foods, worms. The third one is a rope fish and its size is 400 mm long.  That sure is a long fish! It eats live fish and worms. The third one is the puffer fish.   Its size is 60 mm long.  That’s pretty short and it eats live fish and lettuce. The next one is the fresh water Stingray.  Its size is 700 mm long and it eats live and frozen foods.  That is all about the different types of fishes.

Next, we are going to learn about the different body parts of the fish. First, there are the fins. Then, there are the eyes. Then, there are  some more, but that’s all I can put so that’s the end.

Now, how do fish turn into fossils.  They die.  Minerals in the sand turn them to rock.  Although there are more fish than anything else, we  don't have a lot of fish fossils, with the exception of sharks' teeth.  Fish bodies are very fragile, so they don't make good fossils.  Scientists have found out from fish fossils that the very first invertebrates were fish.  These fish called agnathans lived 500 millions years ago.  They must have been funny looking because they didn't even have any jaw bones.    The first fish that had a complete skeleton didn't show up until 200 million years ago.  They were called the bony fish.  Except the placoderms, all the major types of fish are still around today.  There are still more bony fish than any others.
