Plants do not have bones, but when they get trapped in dirt or other
material, they leave an outline. This is called an impression. The
impression is called a fossil.
Dinosaurs had to eat plants, so there were plants alive at the same
time as the dinosaur. Some of them are extinct, just like the dinosaurs,
but we find fossils of these plants that help us learn about them.
Sometimes we find pieces of wood that have become fossils, like in the
picture below.
