| A scientist who
studies fossils is called a paleontologist. They use special tools like
brushes and small picks. They have to be careful when they dig up
fossils because they don't want to break them or damage them. They might
use special lights or microscopes to study the fossils.

A lot of the
fossils they study are dinosaur fossils. Dinosaurs are animals that
lived a long time ago. They are extinct now. That means that there are
none alive anymore.
