Most cats live to be 12 years old. When they are born they are alive. They can't hear or see at first. They do not have teeth. They have hair. They sleep together in a pile to help them stay warm.

Their mother usually sleeps curled up around them. They eat and sleep and grow. After about a week their eyes start to open. They start to move around a little bit. They start to hear things.

After they grow, they start to walk and wobble around. They eat even more and grow. Their ears become pointed. Their faces change a little. They lose some of their hair and grow thicker hair.
