Trees and plants have life cycles, too. They start as seeds.
Most seeds are small. Seeds are planted in soil and then watered.
They need sunlight.
They start to sprout and push up through the dirt. Then they are
small plants. Sometimes they are called shoots or seedlings.
They get more sunlight and water and grow taller until they are
medium size. They keep growing until they are adult plants.
Some adult plants have fruit. The fruit has more seeds inside. Some
of them have cones like pine cones. These have seeds, too. Some of
them have things called spores. These are seeds.
The wind sometimes blows seeds around. The rain can take seeds from
one place to another. Seeds travel to new places and get buried in
the dirt and grow new plants.
