Reptiles are a type of animal.

Reptiles are vertebrates. They have scales, and are cold-blooded.

Most reptiles lay eggs. Reptiles usually make nests to lay their eggs in.

Lizards, snakes, turtles, and crocodiles are just some of the types of reptiles.

Reptiles have a special type of skull, and their eggs are different from eggs laid by other types of animals.

Dinosaurs were a type of reptile.

There are more than 8,000 types of reptiles.

Reptiles have scaly skin. This helps keep them from drying out.

Reptiles do not go through a metamorphosis or change like amphibians do.

Reptiles like to lay in the sun to get warm. If they need to cool off, they find some shade.

Some reptiles live on land, like lizards. Others live in the water, like alligators.

There are no reptiles on Antarctica.

Some reptiles walk. Others crawl. Others slither. And others swim.

Reptiles use lungs to breathe.

Some reptiles, like lizards, can grow new tails if they lose their old ones.

Reptiles like lizards and chameleons can change colors to help them blend in to their surroundings.

Snakes are reptiles that can dislocate their jaws (take their jaws apart) to help them swallow food that is big.
